Sequestration of CO2 in geological formations (depleted reservoirs)

The study involved the use of proprietary geochemical reaction-transport modeling codes (IFP codes NEWKIN and DIAPHORE) to reproduce lab experiments.
The aim was to model the evolution of CO2-saturated water chemistry (cations and counterions molality) when in contact with a geological formation (depleted sandstone reservoir of Utsira formation), and its related subsequent alteration of the initial mineral paragenesis.
This was a multi-lab multi-countries EC-funded project.
